Systems and methods for providing sensitive and specific alarms indicative ofglycemic condition are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method ofprocessing sensordata by a continuous analyte sensor includes: evaluating sensor data using afirst function todetermine whether a real time glucose value meets a first threshold；evaluating sensor datausing a second function to determine whether a predicted glucose value meets asecondthreshold； activating a hypoglycemic indicator if either the first thresholdis met or if thesecond threshold is predicted to be met； and providing an output based on theactivatedhypoglycemic indicator. The system 100 can include a continuous analyte sensorsystem 8,sensor electronics 12, a continuous analyte sensor 10, and other devicesand/or sensors suchas medicament delivery pump 2 and glucose meter 4 that can couple with one ormoredevices 14, 16, 18, and/or 20.
