PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable clear and high-resolution output in the ultrasound diagnosis using an ultrasonic probe.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has: an ultrasonic probe 120 including a substrate 100 having an ultrasonic transducer 101 arranged therein and including a first surface and a second surface that are rectangular faces, and a backing member 106 including a curved surface 106a connected to the second surface and protruded toward the arrangement side of the ultrasonic transducer 101 and a bottom surface 107 and a control unit for instructing ultrasonic transmission/reception to the ultrasonic probe 120. Further, the substrate 100 includes a through-hole formed in an outer circumferential part of the first surface. A holding member penetrating the through-hole and holding the substrate 100 is provided in the curved surface 106a.
