PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope position locating apparatus, a method, and a program capable of determining into which luminal structure the endoscope is inserted at a branching position.SOLUTION: An image acquiring unit 21 acquires actual endoscope images T0, and a virtual endoscope image generating unit 22 generates virtual endoscope images K0 including a plurality of virtual endoscope branch images Kb. A corresponding virtual endoscope image determination unit 23 acquires a plurality of actual endoscope images within a designated period of time in the past from the current position of the endoscope, compares the plurality of actual endoscope images Tni and the plurality of virtual endoscope branch images Kb, and determines a corresponding virtual endoscope image that corresponds to an already passed branching structure closest to the current position of the endoscope. A matching unit 24 matches a plurality of actual endoscope route images Tp against a plurality of virtual endoscope route images Kp for each of a plurality of routes.
