A signal processing unit 39 includes a position specifying unit 50, an observation distance detecting unit 52, and a measuring marker setting unit 54. The position specifying unit 50 identifies the position of the spot SP based on the captured image of the subject. The observation distance detection unit 52 detects the observation distance based on the position of the spot SP.
