PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for evaluating stress by determining the expression level of a specific gene in a leukocyte.SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the stress uses at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Retn1g, Csta, Il1b, Camp, Tspan8, Mmp9, Add2, Eraf, Aqp1, Alas2, Hbb and the like as a stress-evaluation marker gene the expression level of which is used as an index. The method for creating the stressed model animal includes carrying out the breeding of a rat or a mouse in a wire net cage after carrying out the breeding thereof in a floored condition.
