The present invention relates to an alginate fiber for a mask pack having excellent gelation properties for substituting calcium ions inside the alginate fiber with a high content of guluronic acid with sodium ions, thereby having high hygroscopic properties. According to the present invention, fibers are produced by using calcium ions and a sodium alginate solution containing beneficial components to the skin and having excellent hygroscopic properties, while a portion of an ion crosslink is re-substituted with sodium ions to secure the matter stability of final fiber products.
