PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furrowing and mulching device whereby seed tubers of yams are planted in opening grooves of deep plowed furrows, thereafter, the vicinity of the seed tubers are assuredly covered by soil, and at the same time ridges are formed by compressing and packing the soil on the surface of round ridges, mulching is performed by attaching a mulching film such that the ridge shape does not collapse, and so air gaps do not form between the ridge and the film, and weeds do not grow.SOLUTION: In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a furrowing and mulching device for yams and the like where the furrowing device is connected to a rear portion of a tractor so as to cover the planted seed tubers with soil to form round ridges while at the same time placing mulching film thereon, characterized by a semi-circular round-ridge forming plate inclined and tapered towards the back from the base end to form a funnel shape and compressing and packing the surface
