PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide agents and pharmaceutical compositions for reducing amyloid formation, and/or promoting disaggregation of amyloid proteins.SOLUTION: The inventors have found that phage g3p protein directly binds to amyloid fibers and that the phage-mediated disaggregation depends on this initial binding step.
