Provided are cyano-phenyl-pyrazole carboxamide derivative compounds of the general formula (I) or the general formula (II), wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. Examples of the compounds include (S)-N-(1-(3-(3-Chloro-4-cyano-2,5-difluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)propan-2-yl)-2-methyl-1H-imidazole-5-carboxamide and (S)-N-(1-(3-(3-Chloro-4-cyano-5-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)propan-2-yl)-5-(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxamide. The compounds are androgen receptor (AR) antagonists. The compounds may be useful in the treatment of prostate cancer.
