PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harvester that can efficiently and surely perform harvesting work of leaf vegetables for root cutting of the leaf vegetables in soil and taking in the vegetables such as spinach.SOLUTION: Harvesting blades 20 for roof cutting of leaf vegetables are provided in a machine body 12 of a self-propelled vehicle. Harvesting mechanism parts 16, 18 are also provided that make the harvesting blades 20 move vertically and periodically in the depth direction, and periodically change the direction thereof between a downward direction where the front edge side is lowered than a horizontal position and an upward direction where the front edge side is made higher than the horizontal position. The harvest mechanism parts 16, 18 ares configured such that the harvesting blades 20 move while changing a direction between the downward direction and the upward direction, while vertically moving in a sinusoidal wave shape in soil, when the machine body 12 moves, and thereby the leaf vegetables can be smoothly subjected to root cutting and harvested.
