Disclosed are a hydrogel composition which does not bleed out excessive liquid essence from hydrogel, does not stick to hands, and has excellent adhesion to facial skin, and to a method for preparing a mask by using the same. According to one aspect, the hydrogel composition with excellent adhesion comprises carrageenan, locust bean gum, xanthan gum, and gelatin. According to another aspect, the method for preparing a mask by using a hydrogel composition with excellent adhesion comprises: a step for stirring raw materials including carrageenan, locust bean gum, xanthan gum, and gelatin to produce a hydrogel composition and a step for coating one surface of a substrate with the hydrogel composition and cooling the same.
