PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method capable of suppressing crystallization of a hydroquinone derivative or arbutin in a preparation containing a hydroquinone derivative or arbutin or an external preparation for skin having good usability which is suppressed in crystallization of a hydroquinone derivative or arbutin.SOLUTION: There is provided an external preparation for skin which comprises a hydroquinone derivative and at least one selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyalkyl cellulose having an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkylalkyl cellulose having an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and pullulan. Further, a hydroxyethyl cellulose and pullulan are found to be more preferable.COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT【課題】ハイドロキノン誘導体あるいはアルブチンを含有した製剤において、ハイドロキノン誘導体あるいはアルブチンの結晶化を抑制できる方法、もしくはハイドロキノン誘導体あるいはアルブチンの結晶化を抑制した使用性のよい皮膚外用剤を得ることを課題とした。【解決手段】 ハイドロキノン誘導体と、アルキル基がC1~C3のヒドロキシアルキルセルロース、アルキル基がC1~C3のヒドロキシアルキルアルキルセルロース、プルランからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも一種を含有することで、課題を解決できることが分かった。またヒドロキシエチルセルロース、プルランがより好ましいことも分かった。
