PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for monitoring an oral cavity or pharyngeal barometric pressure in which the oral cavity or pharyngeal barometric pressure or a pressure difference of a measurement part in swallowing, utterance, chewing and sucking, etc., can be monitored in non-invasive and time series, and thereby it is available in the evaluation of various functions and diagnosis of failures of the oral cavity or pharynx.SOLUTION: An apparatus for monitoring an oral cavity or pharyngeal barometric pressure includes: a barometric pressure sensor for converting a barometric pressure level into a signal a connector to be connected to an information processing apparatus a clasp line capable of being attached to an abutment tooth or a denture base capable of being fixed in a palate and a transmission unit for transmitting the signal from the barometric pressure sensor to the connector. The barometric pressure sensor is attached to the clasp line or the denture base, and the clasp line or the denture base is attached so that the barometric pressure sensor attached to the clasp line or the denture base may be disposed to the oral cavity or the pharynx, and thereby the oral cavity or pharyngeal barometric pressure can be monitored.
