Needle module 1 for puncturing skin in a reciprocal manner, wherein the needle module comprises a needle unit 2, a housing 10 and a biasing mechanism 4, wherein the needle unit comprises a needle, wherein said needle unit is movable with respect to said housing between an extended position wherein a distal end of the needle extends from a distal end of said housing and a retracted position wherein the distal end of the needle is positioned within the housing, wherein the biasing mechanism is arranged for urging the needle unit towards the retracted position, wherein the needle module further comprises a limiting mechanism, wherein the limiting mechanism is arranged for limiting the relative movement of the needle unit out of the distal end of the housing to a maximum extension distance when moving towards the extended position, wherein said maximum extension distance is 1,5 mm or less.
