The present invention relates to novel bacteriophage EC10 having destructive capability specific to pathogenic Escherichia coli, an antibacterial composition comprising the same bacteriophage, a feed additive composition, feed, a disinfectant, or a cleanser, and a method for preventing or treating contagious disease caused by pathogenic Escherichia coli, the method comprising a step of administering the bacteriophage into an object. The method for preventing or treating contagious diseases caused by pathogenic Escherichia coli by using bacteriophage EC10 of the present invention has very high specificity to pathogenic Escherichia coli compared to conventional chemical materials such as antibiotics. The bacteriophage EC10 infects pathogenic Escherichia coli, proliferates by 100 times or more in the pathogenic Escherichia coli, and thus has merits of having excellent bacteriolytic activity and being strong against physical and chemical stimulation. In addition, bacteriophage EC10 does not infect hosts such as humans, animals, or plants other than bacteria and thus has a merit of being capable of solving a problem of bacteria resistant to antibiotics, a problem of antibiotics remaining in food, and a problem of a wide range of hosts.
