This stent delivery system comprises: a guide catheter a stent formed into in a tube shape and capable of having the guide catheter inserted therein and a pusher catheter formed in a tube shape, capable of having the guide catheter inserted therein, and arranged further on the base end side than the stent. The pusher catheter has: a diameter-increase suppressing section provided in a tip section and having the same inner diameter as the inner diameter of the stent and an intermediate section provided on the base end side of the diameter-increase suppressing section and having less bending stiffness than the diameter-increase suppressing section.
