A multi-function exercise apparatus comprising a centrally disposed support member 45, a plurality of arms 51 on which there is disposed at least one strike surface (55, fig.12b), a coupling mechanism 49 mounted on the support member for securing the arms, wherein the arms are pivotably radially movable between a storage position and a number of static, deployed, in use positions. The apparatus may also include an electronic controller for generating sequences to be followed by a user to encourage exercise to improve co-ordination, strength, speed and mental acuity, including memory and arithmetic sequency. The controller also allows for pacing, monitoring and scoring a range of exercises and simulations for one or more users. A method of exercising using the apparatus are also disclosed.
