PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire with improved operability and insertability to a stenotic lesion part or the like.SOLUTION: The guide wire 1A includes: a core shaft 2 a coil body 3A wound around the outer periphery of at least the distal end part 20 of the core shaft 2 and a most distal end part 4 formed by fixing the distal end part 20 of the core shaft 2 and the distal end part 30 of the coil body 3A wherein spiral projection part 14A and recessed part 14B continued to the coil body 3A are formed on the surface of the most distal end part 4.
