The present invention describes a pharmaceutical preparation comprising camphene and derivatives thereof which derivatives make camphene water soluble, said pharmaceutical preparation aiming at the decrease of LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides in a human or in an animal, wherein said camphene originates from Chios Mastic gum essential oil.
