PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope of a simple structure and a low cost where LED illumination arranged at the distal end of an insertion part can be replaced and repaired easily.
SOLUTION: The endoscope 1 is provided with: a distal end part set 20 provided with terminal members 61 and 62 connected with an electric cable 64 for supplying power and at least a part of an objective optical system 4 for observing a section to be observed a rotation cover 7 arranged rotatably at the prescribed position of the outer peripheral surface of the distal end part set 20 through a temporarily fitting member 8 an O ring 27 for keeping water tightness of the rotation cover 7 and the distal end part set 20 an LED chip 52 and a connection pin 9 whose one end is connected to a light-emitting device 52 and the other end of which is connected to the terminal member 61 or the terminal member 62. The endoscope 1 is provided with a distal end unit 10 which is cylindrical, which has a cut-off position notifying mark 10a at a prescribed position of the outer peripheral surface and where an opening-side end part is fixed integrally to the rotation cover 7 keeping water tightness.
