A method of constructing an inflatable electrode assembly configured forirrigation,comprises: providing a flex circuit haying a substrate with a pre-formedaperture, the substrateconstructed of a material having a greater heat resistance or a first meltingtemperature； providing aballoon member with a membrane, the membrane constructed of a material havinga lesser heatresistance or a second melting temperature lower than the first meltingtemperature of the substrate；affixing the substrate to the membrane wherein a surrounding portion of thesubstrate around thepre-formed aperture masks a surrounding portion of the membrane so as toexpose a target portionof the membrane； and applying heat to the target portion of the membranethrough the pre-formedaperture of the substrate, wherein the heat applied, without melting thesubstrate, melts the targetportion of the membrane in forming an aperture in the membrane.
