PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a visual line with good accuracy.SOLUTION: A visual line detector includes: an irradiation part for irradiating infrared light to a subject； an imaging part for picking up an image of a subject's eye in timing of irradiating infrared light to the subject； an adjusting part for adjusting the quantity of a visible light irradiated to the subject's eye according to the luminance of a pupil image in the image of the subject's eye； and a visual line detecting part for detecting a subject's visual line on the basis of a cornea reflected image where the pupil image in the subject's eye and the infrared light are reflected on the cornea surface after the quantity of visible light is adjusted.
