The invention relates to an annular prosthesis for mitral valve therapy by annuloplasty, in the systolic state of said mitral valve. The implantation of the prosthesis according to the invention is intended for remodeling the contours of the mitral valve by means of a surgical annuloplasty operation, in the event of a mitral valve failure caused by a closing defect that is due to the deformation of the contour of the valve. The prosthesis consists of a "mitral" ring having the shape of a horse saddle and consisting of two rigid circular segments (1) (2) joined to one another at the respective ends thereof by the hinge areas (3) (4) which are raised and located in the middle of the rear annulus (5) and of the front annulus (6). The prosthesis is thus articulated by the two hinges (3) and (4) thereof on an axis represented by (7), which passes through the middle of the rear annulus segment (5) and of the front annulus (6).Prothèse annulaire pour la thérapie de la valve mitrale par annulo- plastie dans son état systolique. La prothèse est constituée d'un anneau "mitral" de forme imagée d'une selle de cheval, formé de deux segments de cercles rigides (1) (2), réunis entre eux par leurs extrémités respectives par des zones charnières (3) (4) qui se situent surélevées au milieu de l'annulus postérieur (5) et de l'annulus antérieur (6). La prothèse s'articule ainsi par ses deux charnières (3) et (4) dans un axe représenté par (7) passant par le milieu du segment annulus postérieur (5) et celui de l'annulus antérieur (6).
