Method for sterilizing a container (100) comprising the steps of: generating a flow of water vapour； introducing an aqueous compound containing a liquid hydrogen peroxide into the flow of water vapour so as to obtain a mixture of water vapour and partially evaporated hydrogen peroxide； heating the mixture so as to complete its evaporation； delivering the heated and evaporated mixture to the container (100) to be sterilized.
