The purpose of the present invention is to provide an improved medical connector such that an elastic valve body can be stably attached to a housing in a predetermined state, and a method of manufacturing the same. A disk-shaped elastic valve body (14) is inserted in an opening (20) which is formed in a housing (12) and provided with a valve receiving seat (22) so that the inner surface of the elastic valve body (14) is supported by the valve receiving seat (22), and a ring member (52) is placed over the outer surface of the circumferential part of the elastic valve body (14) so that the circumferential part of the elastic valve body (14) is sandwiched between the valve receiving seat (22) and the ring member (52). Further, a welded part (66) is formed by melting a welding projection (62) projecting between the housing (12) and the ring member (52) so that the housing (12) and the ring member (52) are joined and fixed together through the welded part (66), and a positioning part (68) for positioning the housing (12) and the ring member (52) relative to each other in a direction approaching each other is provided at a portion off the welding projection (62).
