PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe having proper transmission efficiency and excellent general-purpose properties.SOLUTION: A screen size selection unit 218 selects any one from among a plurality of kinds of screen sizes. A data thinning-out unit 209, a logarithmic transformation unit 210, a luminance conversion unit 211, a pixel interpolation unit 212, and an image memory 213 generate image data for displaying an ultrasonic diagnosis image of a screen size selected by the screen size selection unit 218, on the basis of a reception signal.
