PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of reducing labor taken for measuring spatial characteristics of a subject.
SOLUTION: A solid-state image sensing device 2a captures the image of a subject and creates image data. An image signal processing circuit 33 transforms the image such as flip horizontal on the image data. CPU 26 inversely transforms the image transformation on the image data and measures the spatial characteristics of the subject based on optical data and the image data after the inverse transformation. Whatever image transformation is executed, if only having optical data usable for the measurement using the image data before the image transformation, this apparatus can executes the measurement based on the image data acquired by inversely transforming the image-transformed image data and the optical data. This apparatus can thus dispense with the measurement of novel optical data to reduce the labor taken for the measurement of the spatial characteristics of the subject.
