The invention relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratinous fibers comprising applying to the keratinous fibers a mixture of an acrylic polymer of maleic anhydride, a liposoluble polyol and an aminated catalyst； said acrylic maleic anhydride polymer being obtained by polymerization of: (a) 50 to 90% by weight, of the total weight of monomers, of isobornyl (meth) acrylate (b) 1 to 50% by weight of maleic anhydride (c) 0 to 49% by weight of additional (meth) acrylate monomer and a step of heating the keratinous fibers at a temperature ranging from 90 ° C to 250 ° C. The invention also relates to the crosslinked polymer obtained by reacting said acrylic polymer with said liposoluble polyol. The treated keratin fibers have good fixing properties, which are water-resistant. L'invention concerne aussi le polymère réticulé obtenu par la réaction dudit polymère acrylique avec ledit polyol liposoluble. Les fibres kératiniques traitées ont de bonnes propriétés de fixation, rémanentes à l'eau.
