The present invention relates to the use of iontophoresis to deliver ophthalmic compositions (in particular. collyriums) preferably containing riboflavin, or other cross-linking agents, designed to imbibe the corneal stroma in the practice of the corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) for the keratoconus treatment, and also relates to the corresponding ophthalmic compositions adapted to be administrated by iontophoresis in the treatment of keratoconus by corneal collagen cross-linking. According to the invention it is provided an ophthalmic composition for the treatment of keratoconus by corneal iontophoresis characterized by the fact to comprise cross-linking agents having buffering properties and whose initial pH value is comprised between 5 and 6, and/or bio-enhancers, and/or photo- enhancers.La présente invention concerne lutilisation dionophorèse pour ladministration de compositions ophtalmologiques (en particulier, des collyres) contenant de préférence la riboflavine, ou dautres agents de réticulation, destinés à imbiber le stroma cornéen lors de la réalisation de réticulation du collagène cornéen (CXL) pour le traitement de kératocône. Linvention concerne une composition ophtalmologique pour le traitement de kératocône par ionophorèse de la cornée caractérisée en ce quelle comporte des agents de réticulation possédant des propriétés de tamponnage et dont la valeur pH initiale est comprise entre 5 et 6, et/ou des bio-activateurs, et/ou des photo-activateurs.
