The stent delivery system includes a guide catheter, a stent that is formed in a tubular shape and into which the guide catheter can be inserted, and a pusher catheter that is formed in a tubular shape and is capable of insertion of the guide catheter and disposed at the proximal end side of the stent. The pusher catheter has a diameter expanding suppressing portion provided at the distal end portion and having an inner diameter equal to the inner diameter of the stent and an intermediate portion provided at the proximal end side of the diameter expanding restraining portion and having a bending stiffness smaller than that of the diameter expanding restraining portion.
