A dispersant for fine particles containing at least one substance selected from esters (a) of ditrimethylolpropane with fatty acids and polycondensates (b) of ditrimethylolpropane, is new. The polycondensates (b) of ditrimethylolpropane comprise polycondensates of the esters of ditrimethylolpropane with polycarboxylic acids, poly-condensates of the ester (a) with polycarboxylic acid, and polycondensates of esters of trimethylolpropane with polycarboxylic acids with fatty acids. The ester of the ditrimethylolpropane with a fatty acid is represented by general formula (I). [Image] R 1 - R 4H atom or fatty acid residue group In (I) at least one of R 1 - R 4 is an H atom.
