According to the present invention, an ultrasonic probe comprises: an ultrasonic transceiver transmitting an ultrasonic signal to an object and receiving a signal reflected from the object； a first display receiving information from a user or outputting information received from an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus； and a first controller displaying a first image, which includes information on an operating state of the ultrasonic probe and set by the user, on the first display when the operating state of the ultrasonic probe is switched to a standby state. According to the present invention, the information set by the user is able to be viewed through a display provided in the ultrasonic probe or the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus at any time, and thus the user is able to easily obtain information on the ultrasonic probe or the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus.본 발명에 의한 초음파 프로브는 초음파 신호를 대상체로 송신하고, 상기 대상체로부터 반사되는 신호를 수신하는 초음파 송수신부와 사용자로부터 정보를 수신하거나 초음파 진단 장치로부터 수신된 정보를 출력하는 제 1디스플레이와 상기 초음파 프로브의 동작 상태가 대기 상태로 전환되는 경우, 사용자로부터 미리 설정 받은 상기 초음파 프로브의 동작 상태에 관한 정보를 포함하는 제 1화면을 상기 제 1디스플레이에 표시하는 제 1제어부를 포함할 수 있다.본 발명의 경우 초음파 프로브 또는 초음파 진단 장치에 설치된 디스플레이를 통하여 사용자가 설정해 놓은 정보를 언제든지 확인할 수 있어 사용자가 보다 용이하게 초음파 프로브 또는 초음파 진단 장치에 관한 정보를 취득할 수 있는 장점이 존재한다.
