PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide planting soil for lawn performing maintenance/tending of the lawn without using a large amount of a chemical agent such as a chemical fertilizer or an insecticide/a fungicide. SOLUTION: The planting soil for the lawn is obtained by laying pulverized small lump and/or granular bamboo charcoal 1 over dug surface soil, laying a mixed layer 3 prepared by mixing sand with the pulverized granular bamboo charcoal thereover, further laying sand 2 thereover, forming soil, planting bentgrass 4 in the sand 2 of the surface layer and forming green. Furthermore, the planting soil suitable for Zoysia matrella Merr. of teeing ground and fairway is obtained by laying the pulverized small lump and/or granular bamboo charcoal 1 over the dug surface soil, laying the sand 2 thereover, forming the soil and planting the Zoysia matrella Merr. 4 in the sand 2 in the surface layer.
