The present invention provides a foot and mouth disease (FMD) virus having improved stability compared to the field isolate of the same subtype, wherein the virus comprises one or more amino acid mutations along a line of symmetry of the capsid structure. The present invention also relates to a vaccine comprising such an FMD virus and its use to prevent foot and mouth disease.La présente invention concerne un aphthovirus doté dune stabilité améliorée par rapport à lisolat naturel du même sous-type, ledit aphthovirus comprenant une ou plusieurs mutations dacides aminés le long dun axe de symétrie de la structure de la capside.
