A novel marker for detecting microsatellite instability in cancer and determining synthetic lethality by inhibiting the DNA base excision repair pathway
The present application relates to the field of cancer, in particular to mismatch repair (MMR) deficient tumors. Provided herein are new markers with high sensitivity for detecting whether a tumor is a mismatch repair defect. The marker is in particular a mutation in the microsatellite region. Accordingly, a method is provided for diagnosing microsatellite instability of a tumor comprising determining the presence of these markers.
