Use of a pharmaceutical composition in the preparation of a medicament for reducing pain wherein the medicament is formulated for selective delivery into the nasal sinuses or rear of the nasal cavity of the subject for adsorption of at least a portion of the medicament by nasal tissue located at the rear of the nasal cavity in the vicinity of the maxillary sinus, wherein the said pharmaceutical composition comprises 2.5-3.5% (w/v) tetracaine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a vasoconstrictor and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
