Garden shears have a holder (50,60) for guiding and cutting with blades (36) of the shears. A resting surface (56,61) has a V-shaped groove (58,63,73) with initial contact points which constrict a position and come into contact with a first groove and at the end of the cutting action come into contact with the groove again. The contact points widen along the shears and cutting can be guided exactly. The holder has teeth and allows the two sides of the utters to make an angle of 55-65o.
