The present invention describes the functionalization of sodium hyaluronate in a homogeneous phase with small molecules with proven inhibitory activity against membrane metalloproteins involved in the dry eye disease (MMP-2, MMP-9), in inflammatory processes at an osteoarticular level (MMP-12 and MMP-13) and in the formation of wrinkles (MMP-1 ). The hyaluronic acid derivative thus obtained (MMP- HA inhibitor) is useful for the medical treatment of dry eye and of inflammatory processes at the osteoarticular level, but also for the cosmetic treatment of skin blemishes due to aging processes.La présente invention décrit la fonctionnalisation de l'hyaluronate de sodium dans une phase homogène avec de petites molécules ayant une activité inhibitrice prouvée contre les métalloprotéines membranaires impliquées dans la maladie de l'œil sec (MMP-2, MMP-9), dans des processus inflammatoires à un niveau ostéo-articulaire (MMP-12 et MMP-13) et dans la formation de rides (MMP-1). Le dérivé d'acide hyaluronique ainsi obtenu (inhibiteur de MMP- HA) est utile pour le traitement médical de l'œil sec et de processus inflammatoires au niveau ostéo-articulaire, mais également pour le traitement cosmétique des imperfections de la peau dues aux processus de vieillissement.
