PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that has a protrusion part with good cushion-like nature even at a low load, shows excellent fitness, gives the good feeling of wearing, and is hard to leak.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 is substantially vertically long, and is provided with a surface sheet 21, a back sheet 3 and an absorbent layer 44 between these surface and back sheets 21 and 3. At its lateral center, the absorbent article 1 has a protrusion 5 that protrudes toward the users skin. The protrusion 5 contains an upper cushion layer 41 arranged adjacent with the surface sheet 21, and a lower cushion layer 43 located below the upper cushion layer 41. A lower absorbent layer 44 is arranged on the skin-side of the lower cushion layer 43. The upper cushion layer 41 is more easily deformable by vertical pressures than the lower cushion layer 43.
