To provide effective means of diagnosing, monitoring, preventing and treating tauopathy in Alzheimer's disease.SOLUTION: Disclosed are antibodies and antigen-binding fragments that specifically bind to microtubule-associated protein tau, in particular, anti-tau antibodies and antigen-binding fragments thereof that detect tau in normal human brain tissue, or detect tau deposits in human Alzheimer's disease and progressive supranuclear palsy brain tissue.
