A dentrifice composition characterized by containing (B) a calcium-carbonate abrasive and (C) at least one compound selected from among hydrogen carbonate, orthophosphate, and condensed phosphate in (A) a dentrifice composition containing an ascorbic acid phosphate ester or a salt thereof. This dentrifice composition is further characterized in that the quotient of the mass of component (C) and the mass of component (B) is between 0.020 and 1.0, inclusive.
