A smoke generation device is provided with a housing, a food storage chamber, a smoke generation chamber, a communication passage, and a heat source. The food storage chamber is arranged in the housing and is so configured as to store a food therein. The smoke generation chamber is arranged at a higher position than the position of the food in the housing and is so configured as to store a smoke generation agent that can generate smoke by heating. The communication passage can allow the food storage chamber to be communicated with the smoke generation chamber. The heat source is arranged at a higher position than the position of the food storage chamber in the housing and is so configured as to heat the smoke generation agent. According to this aspect, it becomes possible to prevent the excessive heating of the food by heat from the heat source.
