PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antioxidant good in operability and having antioxidizing activity, and to provide cosmetics, skin care preparations and foods each containing the same.
SOLUTION: A low-viscosity hydrolyzate good in operability and markedly improved in antioxidizing activity is provided, which is obtained by hydrolyzing water-soluble polysaccharides extracted from the carpophore or body cells of Tremella fuciformis Berk. The antioxidant with high antioxidizing activity is obtained by including the above hydrolyzate. The cosmetics, skin care preparations and foods each characterized by containing the above antioxidant are also provided, respectively.
