Cells are preserved by adding 1% by volume of a composition containing 0.01% by weight to 20% by weight of sorpholipid between immediately before cryopreservation and 6 hours before. This composition can improve cell viability at the time of cryopreservation by reducing the freezing of cells, and can preserve cells without using DMSO and serum.
