What is proposed is: a method for producing a blood substitute from polymerized haemoglobin, a base of blood-substituting solutions with the function of transporting oxygen for use in veterinary medicine, the method comprising producing deoxygenated livestock haemoglobin, and polymerizing and cleaning same. In order to produce deoxygenated haemoglobin, an erythrocyte mass free from leucocytes is separated off by means of plasmapheresis, non-heme proteins are precipitated by adding dry sodium chloride to the haemoglobin solution in a concentration of 0.6 % by mass, a diafiltration step for cleaning the polymerized haemoglobin is carried out in a single stage on detaching membranes on the basis of a molecular mass of 100 kDa, and a finished product with a content of polymerized haemoglobin with a molecular mass of greater than 64 kDa within the range of from 75% to 95% is produced. The technical result consists in shortening the time for filtration of the polymerized haemoglobin, reducing the volume of washing solution and reducing the pyrogenicity of the finished product.
