PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which has a plurality of clock-incorporated reception coils and in which respective reference clocks are synchronized with one another.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a system body which reconstructs MR signals from a subject to generate an image of the subject a plurality of reception coils each of which has AD conversion means, clock generation means and means for wirelessly sending the MR signals a reference coil determination part determining one reference reception coil among the plurality of reception coils and means for delivering the reference clocks of the determined reference reception coil to each of the reception coils other than the reference reception coil with or without wire.
