The present invention also relates to constructs and vectors including such nucleic acids, and related polypeptides. More particularly, the protein involved in flavonoid biosynthesis is selected from the group consisting of: MADS box factor, WRKY box factor, MYC factor, TT1 , HLH factor, MYB factor, FMT, UG3E, GST, OMT, RT, CYTb5, laccase, and ABC 10 transporter proteins, and functionally active fragments and variants thereof.
