The present invention relates to nucleic acids encoding flavonoid biosyntheticenzymes, flavonoid-regulating transcription factors and a flavonoid-specificmembrane transporter in plants, and the use thereof for the modification of flavonoidbiosynthesis in plants. The present invention also relates to constructs andvectors including such nucleic acids, and related polypeptides. More particularly,the protein involved in flavonoid biosynthesis is selected from the group consistingof: MADS box factor, WRKY box factor, MYC factor, TT1, HLH factor, MYB factor,FMT, UG3E, GST, OMT, RT, CYTb5, laccase, and ABC transporter proteins, and functionallyactive fragments and variants thereof.
