PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately measure the body fat percentage of an animal whose skin is covered with hair.SOLUTION: The body fat measuring instrument 10 for animals includes: a pair of insulating electrode bodies 20 arranged side by side on one plane and used by being pressed to a part of the body of the animal a calculation part 30 which is electrically connected to the electrode bodies 20 and applies a voltage between the electrode bodies 20 so as to calculate capacitance between the electrode bodies 20 a computing part 40 for computing body fat from the capacitance calculated in the calculation part 30 and a display part 50 for displaying the result computed in the computing part 40.
