PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lipid adsorbent that effectively adsorbs lipid. A lipid adsorbent containing ammonium alginate. The viscosity of ammonium alginate is preferably 20 to 900 mPa·s at a concentration of 1 w/v% at 20°C. The lipid adsorbent of the present invention preferably further contains calcium alginate, and in this case, it is preferable to contain 0.01 to 20 parts by mass of calcium alginate per 1 part by mass of ammonium alginate.
